The Cal-Nev-Ha District Mid-Year Conference

registration deadline is February 6, 2009!

The Conference will be held in Sacramento on February 21, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel on Arden Way.  This annual event is our forum to gather and meet with old friends, educate new Kiwanians, and share best practices for serving our communities.  Speakers will include Past International President Steve Siemens, along with many other experienced leaders in the areas of service, fund raising, and membership growth.  As representatives and hosts for this local gathering, all clubs in Divisions 44 & 7 are encouraged to support strong attendance.  Registration forms and hotel information is available at

Kiwanis One Day - April 4, 2009

We are aware that the Cal-Nev-Ha Key Club District Convention is the same day as Kiwanis One Day. When the conflict was discovered, I asked Key Clubbers and the Key Club Administrator if we should change Kiwanis One Day for our District. It was unanimous that we should not. They stated, only 2,500 members go to convention and that still leaves over 30,000 Key Clubbers throughout the District to participate in Kiwanis One Day. Convention attendees are developing their own Kiwanis One Day service project. Let’s give those not attending convention an opportunity to participate in a service project.

That is my official answer; however, I know some of our Kiwanis clubs have expressed difficulty with that date due to other conflicts. Therefore, if you want to change your club's Kiwanis One Day, you may feel free to do so, and have the entire month of April to complete a Kiwanis One Day project.

 Yours in Kiwanis Service,

 Dan L. Connolly, Governor

CNH District of Kiwanis International
